Application:
Martindale Abrasion Tester determine the resistance to fabric surface changes of pills and abrasion. It applies to all types of fabrics, especially for woven fabrics and knitted fabrics.
Test Method:
Martindale Abrasion Tester simulates pilling, fuzzing and other surface changes of fabrics which occurs in normal wear.
Mount a circular test specimen on specimen holder of Martindale Tester with a certain load, and rub the specimen surface against the face of a same mounted fabric in Lissajous figure, under a specific number of rotation movement.
The degree of fabric fuzzing and pilling produced by the testing of Martindale Abrasion Tester is evaluated by comparison of tested specimen with standard fabrics.
