Martindale Abrasion Tester - 6 Station

Application:

Martindale Abrasion Tester determines the resistance to abrasion of materials by the Martindale method, it's applicable for textile fabrics including coated fabrics, woven fabrics, knitted fabrics, fleece and nonwovens.

 

Principle:

Mount a circular specimen on the specimen holder of Martindale Abrasion Tester with certain load, and the surface of test specimen rubs against an abrasive medium (the same mounted standard fabric) in geometric movement figure, ie Lissajous figure.

The specimen holder rotates freely around its own axis which is perpendicular to the sueface of the specimen. Evaluate the abrasion resistance of textile fabrics by comparison the tested specimen visually with standard fabrics or photographs.
